It's funny how things hit you in a roundabout way. I had asked one of our marketing people to pull together hard copies of some correspondence relating to an intellectual property matter for me, and he just delivered the pile to me.

Right on top was a letter from a law firm. The address on the letterhead is One World Trade Center, New York, NY 10048.

I am extremely busy this week, mostly because I'm only going to be in the office for three days, so entries will most likely be scarce. You're crushed, I know.

I wanted to take a moment, though, to express my incredible disappointment with the X-Files series finale. I mean, don't get me wrong; I stopped watching the show in earnest after about the sixth season, but I still expected much more than I got. It was nice to see all of the schmoopiness between Mulder and Scully, and I love the smartass Mulder, especially where Skinner is concerned, but man, that was dull. Let's explain the whole conspiracy theory in the driest and most uninteresting fashion imaginable! Let's pull out the trite and overdone ghost appearances to milk Nick Lea, the Lone Gunmen, and X! Let's make CSM into a long-haired hippie freak! Oh, yeah, the kid, too. Where was Fowley? Deep Throat? Mulder's mom? THE BABY??

Gah. Chris Carter, you disappoint me.

At least Oh My Heck didn't win on Survivor.
