We're going out for Japanese food in a little while with Dave's brother Brian and his girlfriend. Then, we might even see a movie! Hold us back! The excitement is without parallel!

Much luck to my niece who's got callbacks for the musical at her college tonight. Kick ass, Katie Beth.

Ugh. The feeling of death on a Triscuit has returned. I am leaving now to go get some antibiotics (no, not Cipro) and to take a nap, since we have Devils tickets tonight.

Big plans afoot for the blog, thanks to Duane and his super duper coding stuff. First, though, I need to get rid of this sinus infection.

I'd really like for American Express to stop spamming me with notices about tickets for Barry Manilow at Radio City Music Hall.

This happened just one town over from where we live. It's rather a sad tale. In other horrible news, a man from the township adjacent to the one where Dave and I used to live in has apparently killed his seven-week-old daughter. This story makes me furious, mostly because one of Dave's old friends lost her daughter in the same way three years ago. Lesson: No matter how upset or frustrated or angry you get, never, EVER shake a baby.

I'm sure that Dave will agree with John Scalzi's suggestion. Hell, I do.

The sellers have agreed to everything that we asked for, and we're officially already out of attorney review. On to the home inspection!

Buffy, the Musical: Better than I thought it would be, although some of the singing (hi, Willow!) made my teeth hurt. It's obvious that Joss Whedon is a big Sondheim fan, too. And of course any time that I get to hear Anthony Stewart Head sing is a good thing. One of my favorite parts of the show: The sung "Grrr. Aargh." at the end. Very, very cute.

Shortly after September 11, I received an email from a gentleman in Malta who had been reading and who noticed that I had mentioned my office being in the same building as Deloitte and Touche. An acquaintance of his was trying frantically to ascertain whether a friend of theirs was safe after the terrorist attacks, because he was a consultant for Deloitte and D&T's World Financial Center offices were partially destroyed. I managed to contact someone at Deloitte who assured me via email that this person was in fact fine, and I passed this information on to the gentleman in Malta.
Yesterday, I received an incredibly touching thank you note in my inbox from him, expressing his deep gratitude for my help, and letting me know that he recently adopted a kitten and has named her Heather, after me.
I heart the internet. I really, really do. It's amazing to me that something that I did that was so simple really made a difference to someone halfway around the globe. I know that it sounds trite, but his note really, really touched me.

So today's big stupidhead thing was that I mixed up my allergy medicine and...Sominex. Yes, it sucked a lot. I mainlined caffeine for most of the day and then came home and crashed.
I shouldn't be allowed out without adult supervision.
The house contract is now officially in "attorney review."

I'm always amazed when I go to the post office and I see someone, like the woman in front of me today, who is buying seven $700 money orders, and paying in cash. I would be really nervous carrying around that much money. I'm also annoyed when this woman pays in $10 bills, thereby necessitating a counting session that lasts almost ten minutes on the part of the clerk.

We interrupt this fairly uninteresting weekend of blogging to bring you this news flash: The sellers have *finally* accepted our newer, much lower offer on the wonderful house, and it appears that barring failure of the home inspection or other issues, Dave and I will be homeowners sometime in January.
HOLY SHIT, Batman. If anyone would like to see a photo, feel free to drop me a line and I'll send you a link.
Too much going on. Rehearsal dinner and favor-making for friends Friday night in south Jersey. Wedding and attendant festivities yesterday, followed by happy baseball-watching and then return to home. This morning, call from realtor to tell us that we most likely will be the new owners of Le Chateau after all of that wrangling.
